Our story

About Us

MohanJodero is a Delhi house for Indian handicrafts — brass, wood, metal, and marble pieces finished by hand, kept for the home and given as gifts.

The house

The workshop

The name reaches back to Mohenjo-daro, one of the oldest planned cities of the Indus Valley. MohanJodero was opened so that living craft could be found with the same sense of age: wall décor, idols, lamps, tea-light holders, and objects for the table, finished by people who still work metal, wood, and stone by hand.

What began with brass and other metals now includes wood, marble, flower vases, mirrors, photo frames, and a wider range of gifts. The collection is edited in Delhi. You can see it in person, or have a piece sent to an address in India or abroad.

The people who make it

We work with highly skilled artisans, and we would rather show their work than speak over it. A piece can vary slightly in finish, weight, or colour. That variation is the signature of a hand, and it is how you can tell the object was not stamped out on a line.

The house exists to keep this work in daily use — a pooja room, a doorway, a gift that stays — and to give the makers a way to reach homes beyond their own town.
